Media and Politics (EAP)

This class is a research seminar on Media and Politics. The goal is to better aprehend the complex relationship between media and politics. This implies understanding the main determinants of this relationship, the different dimensions of it, the variety of media-politics relations around the world, as well as recent trends in this relationship. In order to this, the seminar will try to cover a large variety of issues, usually building on cases and examples.

Every students is expected to make three types of contributions:

  1. Prepare class readings beforehand.

  2. Discuss one of the class readings (10 minutes presentation, as part of a group).

  3. Prepare and hand in a personal research project.

The research project is supposed to rely on genuinely new research that the student has done within and for this class. The project should address on of the major topics/issues that are presented in class. It should use primary data that has been processed or that is interpreted in line with course requirements. The final paper should not exceed 3000 words, references excluded but everything else included (tables, appendix etc.)! The deadline is a week after the last class, i.e. 5 december 2025 at 11.59 pm.
